Technology Applications

Technology Applications is a required enrichment curriculum specified in Texas Education Code, Section 28.002. This curriculum focuses on the teaching and learning of technology skills. "Technology" refers to the use of computers and related technologies such as digital cameras, scanners, and handheld digital devices. As a part of this academic curriculum, students use technology to access information related to their studies and analyze and evaluate that information. They use technology to record and organize new information, allowing them to synthesize and make connections to other knowledge and skills.

Students use technology to communicate their new knowledge with others. In the classroom, students are fully immersed in a learning process that promotes deep and complex understanding. Technology is used to facilitate this learning. Through this curriculum students become fluent in the use of technology applications beginning in pre-kindergarten and continuing through grade twelve.
